I stumbled across a veritable mother load of old wesleyite blogs. I have known for a while that there existed several blogs linked to from Mindy’s site, but only now have I fully delved into them to find such people as tmac, phat allen, goat, mel, etc. Good to know. I’ll try and track them for a while and if they’re any good, I’ll keep on reading. :) But I must say that the topics that they all just posted about are quite disturbing. They are all having kids. Guy & Abi just had one. As well as Matt Hammer. Looks like the Bakers have one on the way as well. Personally I had no idea. Crazy that the people just a bit older than me are all going to be or already are parents. I would guess that a bunch of those people already kept in touch, but hopefully they can stay a bit more in touch through blogs. It’s a new and interesting medium with which to communicate, but it definitely takes some effort to keep up writing on a regular basis. I haven’t checked the old wesley yahoo group in a while, but there didn’t seem to be much there the last time that I looked. Maybe this will replace it some.
Apocalypse Now === F*cked up movie; good, but f’ed up
i too just found those sites recently. i don’t keep up much with any of them so it was funny to read and see what they are all up to. by the way, it’s real weird – many of the old wesleyites that i used to hang out with have babies. so strange…i’ll give you some more names: dustin winckler (boy), jason hamilton (girl), david alexander (girl), will owen (girl), and the list goes on & on. it especially becomes odd when you have dated any of them and they are fathers/mothers now. woah.
david’s a friend of mine — he was my youth pastor for 1.5 yrs before i came to a&m, and the reason i’m at wesley. his daughter is so cute. does he have a blog?
and apocalypse now is good, and it is f’ed up. its really interesting to try to understand it for the reason it was made — as a commentary on the war, and what it’s trying to say. it was easier to understand in the redux version (did you watch that one?) in the extended scene at the french ppl’s house on the river. its kinda boring, but interesting if you’re interested in what they’re talking about. but it’s been a while since i’ve seen it, so i’m mostly just talking about a little bit of what i remember. but i liked it.
“bigbrother0074″ (don’t know your name, not sure if we’ve met)…david does have a blog – i just stumbled upon it actually, haven’t even said hi yet. But here it is: davidsbucket.com
have a great start of school!
bah! now that’s a parked domain courtesy of gogodaddy or some nonsense…
